Testimony from Richard Wolf
"I'm proud as can be, and honored, and humbled that I can help guide the energy these amazing students have… Thank you! "
Richard Wolf has been an active mentor for the past several years. He has touched the lives of many students. Below is his moving testimony about his experiences:
"One protégé had ADHD and suffered from testing anxieties and was well below 2.5 average when he joined MentorNet. But he had the rare ability (persistence, curiosity, love of creating new technologies, and ability to feel self-reward as motivation for lengthy goal achievements) to qualify for graduate school to become a R&D engineer in "cross discipline" specialties (optical, electrical/computer/robotics and physics). He is now in a major market internship and well on the way to his post grad studies! MentorNet was key to all the factors that changed his, his fiancé, and his families lives! We spent two years supporting him!" -
Another protégé graduated with a computer science degree with a entertainment/art minor. He completed an internship at Nickelodeon, flew out to meet me, toured Disney and DreamWorks on two shadow days, and became proficient in the programming tools and apps that are industry standards. He graduated and is now in England doing a masters study in entertainment technical arts for film.
Another protégé is interviewing with a famous FX producer (Remington Scott) via Skype tomorrow. She is a 4.0 GPA, an amazing international student that will serve both USA and China with her extremely rare sense of technology and art and training in film making! She minors now in the subjects of history of film, CG technology in film and game, and is training on networking , apps, 3D tools and programming, etc etc etc. She just returned from her THIRD actual filming assignment in New York, on a special project, where she again operated actual film cameras and worked with scripts. In the digital world, vision and level of detail and continuity MAKES the artist/technology link influential. MentorNet not only changed a life, it changed the way entertainment will be enjoyed, the dramatic potential, and the international potential! I can't wait to hear what she did 10 years from now! Its going to be amazing!
